Vacation Day 2 and A Simple Thought!

Today was a great day all in all. We couldbe depressed because of all the rain, but The Lord held it off for us and kept it very mild. We got up this morning and ate breakfast...it was wonderful and then it was right off to the Water Park. The kids played for a while and then we came up to the room and got ready for our next adventure, but before we left we ate sandwiches to save on some money. ;) We then headed off and we all enjoyed the train ride, Lauren road with her ears covered because of the whistle, we just laughed. After that we went and did a little shopping and boys we found some great deals, shirts for the kids were $2 and under. Can't beat that! We wasted time till we went to Applebee's for dinner with a gift card we had been saving for our trip. Then back to the hotel and backdown to the Water Park for a few hours. We headed back to the room and bathed everyone and now everyone is relaxing kids are drifting off. What a wonderful relaxing day we had and excited for what adventures we will find to do tomorrow.

I was thinking a lot today as I watched my daughter go down the water slides. It amazes me how long it takes her to step out and realize how much fun it is. She also wants me standing at the end making sure she doesn't end up going under the water for too long. As a parent Josh and I are eager for her to take that step and do it,we also know we will be standing there waiting for her to cheer her on for stepping out and taking the challenge.

So many times as Christians we don't allow ourselves to step out by faith, but when we do, we realize how much fun it is serving The Lord and doing what He wants us to do. We need to rememeber the eagerness we have when we want our children to accomplish something as small as stepping out on their own to go down a water slide. Don't you think God feels the same way about us, because He knows He is waiting patiently on the other side to get us through and provide every step of the way and keep us from going under the water. Lauren would slide down and I would reach out and grab her hand so she didn't go under the water everytime she came down the slide. She waited, relied and had faith in me to watch over her and make her feel safe so she could enjoy herself. God wants to do the same for us, but we need to allow Him and have faith!

The faith of a child is so pure and innocent, but it really should make us think about our walk with The Lord. We as parents are disappointed when our children choose not to do something we want them to do so badly and at the same time, when God encourages our heart to do something and we refuse because we lack faith, how do you think God Almighty feels? Think about that next time! Just a simple thought for today! Have a great night!

"It is better to trust in The Lord then to put confidence in man." Psalm 118:8
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1

Thank you for sharing your day at the water park, etc. Truly enjoyed the comparison of a child and our daily walk. I need reminders and I am 71. God bless you and your family as you enjoy your vacation.
